War on Drugs an aside

war-on-drugs

First let me clear in no way shape matter or form, should this be taken as an attack on law enforcement, who in a day to day bases deals with horrific events dealing with the world of drug abuse.

In my family for generations drug addiction has caused great pain, be it my being an alcoholic to other family members having issues with Pills to Heroin.

Living in Racine I see the effects of drugs in my area from crime to kids not  having a dad/mom in the home anymore.

We know too is we spend a hell of a lot of money on this war

a quote   “The U.S. federal government spent over $15 billion dollars in 2010 on the War on Drugs, at a rate of about $500 per second. State and local governments spent at least another 25 billion dollars” . Source: Jeffrey A. Miron & Kathrine Waldock: “The Budgetary Impact of Drug Prohibition,” 2010.

The above number has only grown.

That only in the USA: In Mexico over 160,000 have died. That is a high number, now at on time the killing in Mexico was going down, but that number is going back up. this year.

Here in the States issues from asset forfeiture to area “wire taps” have many questioning if the public is losing rights in this never ending war.

How much of the War on Drugs is simply a away to continue to fund the security state

All for what? Yankees have a huge craving for drugs, now with Cannabis becoming legal in more and more States at least Pot is no longer the driving force for the wars vs say Meth if that a benefit

Still this country needs to have a discussion on drugs a long and deep one and to have that now.

Sadly if we did the right folks would lose a great deal of money.

Yes, I was a mob dr. in a film!

Why yes I was in a film called Petty Cash filmed in Milwaukee directed written by Milwaukee native Ross Bigly this was filled in and around Milwaukee. in 2010.

I played Dr Dan one of the few who lived at the end of the film, I would go on to play Dr Dan in another film The Bad Girl

This film to date has played on Amazon Prime at one time and my understanding is still looking for a further distribution deal.

The Film/Media world with its long time connections with the Mob from as far back as the 30’s and perhaps even today.

Here is the trailer from this great film!
