Book Review You Gotta Be Dirty by Micheal Groan

Our first review is the book You Gotta Be Dirty by Micheal Groan

Published 2016 by Badger Wordsmith, LLC Marinette, WI

190 pp with index.

I received this book late last week and at once I began to read it.

Grabbed my attention right off and found it hard to put down, very fascinating  story of the Outlaws MC in the State of Wisconsin and near by areas focusing in and around the city of Milwaukee.

Mr. Grogan carefully lays out not only the History of the Outlaws MC, but how other events of the time impacted not only events that the Club dealt but the politcal environment  within the City of Milwaukee Leadership and the Milwaukee Police Department.

Case in point as I knew growing up in Madison of the American Indian Movement with events leading up to the murders of FBI Agents Ron Williams, Jack Coler. and how the Outlaws MC may have been connected with the killings.

I knew growing up during the time written of in this book, I had read newspaper stories, can recall TV news reports, however I had no idea how wide range of criminal acts members of the Outlaws were engaged in nor the wide range of crimes involved.

The book does end with how the Outlaws MC was brought to justice and the fate of many with in the court system.

Mr. Grogan, also is clear in saying that groups like the Outlaws still exist and even the Outlaws MS may rise again, but for now…

This reader found this book well written, a joy to read.

The author goes into detail on use of FOIA, with some of the issues in researching this book.

The research was very well done with use of end notes, so the reader may themselves do their own research on this subject plus have an understanding of the hard work Mr. Grogan did in writing this book.

There is an Index to proper names

This book be a great book to get if you are interested in Cycle gangs make a great gift for someone who is as well.

This book is available on Amazon.

The Milwaukee Mob

The Milwaukee Mob is my effort to look at the history of the Mob, in the city of Milwaukee and S.E. Wisconsin  from about 1900 to 1975 (or about), be doing so using Film, Podcasting, and history based interactions with reactors. (I.E. theme parties)

I will also look how the actions of the Mob in Milwaukee are still playing out today, with examples from the effort to bring a casino to Kenosha when Jim Doyle was Governor of Wisconsin

Will be using public records, interviews with those involved, news accounts.

As we will be taking/using photos of historical and if needed take them from public sidewalks but in NO WAY will we do any stick a camera in the face of someone or trespass, our aim is to be respectful at all times.

We hope to post content one a week, if not more often. We will be adding a lot in the next few days.

Thank You

Wayne Clingman
